Dr. Gera Tagani is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon whose path is as precise as it is poetic — shaped by science, strengthened by global training, and defined by a rare sensitivity to beauty in all its forms. With a career spanning Istanbul, Boston, Rotterdam, London, Los Angeles, and Tirana, she represents a new generation of surgeons: deeply academic, globally fluent, artistically attuned, and unapologetically human.
Born in Istanbul, Dr. Tagani spent her early years immersed in a culturally rich and intellectually stimulating environment. After moving to Albania, she completed her studies at the Memorial International School of Tirana, where she was educated in English under the British academic system. Her scientific path formally began in the United States, where she earned a pre-medical degree in biochemistry and neuroscience at Northeastern University in Boston — a rigorous foundation that fueled her desire to understand not only how the body functions, but how it expresses identity.
As part of Northeastern’s elite Co-Op Program, she returned each summer to volunteer at American Hospital 2 in Tirana, assisting in departments ranging from general surgery to pediatrics and plastic surgery. These early clinical experiences, paired with academic immersion, gave her both the discipline of science and the rhythm of surgical teamwork.

But perhaps the most transformative chapter of her career unfolded in Los Angeles. Over six years, Beverly Hills became her second home — a place of rigorous learning and deep professional growth. There, she worked closely with world-renowned plastic surgeons, including Dr. Jonathan Sykes, particularly in facial plastic surgery and transgender female feminization. These years refined not only her technical mastery, but her understanding of the delicate interplay between anatomy, perception, and identity. Throughout this time, she returned regularly to Albania to care for her growing patient base, gracefully balancing two worlds: one of evolving knowledge, the other of enduring care.
Following her medical studies, Dr. Tagani was awarded a competitive scholarship to pursue a postgraduate Master’s in Public Management in Health Systems and Development, organized through the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. The program, focused on public healthcare leadership and strategic development, deepened her understanding of how systems, policy, and access influence medical care across societies.
Her medical degree evolved across borders — from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, where she focused on nutrition and biostatistics, to her clinical thesis on psychiatric disorders and OCD, defended in Tirana. After graduation, she was invited to join the Department of Plastic Surgery at Hygeia Hospital, where she worked alongside leading Greek surgeons while beginning to treat her own patients in aesthetic medicine. By then, she had completed a Master’s in Aesthetic Medicine in London, with advanced training in clinical dermatology and dermoesthetics at King’s College – Guy’s Hospital.
Her time at Stanford University marked a profound evolution — not only as a surgeon, but as a thinker. Under the mentorship of Dr. Gordon Lee, Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, she trained in microsurgery and advanced reconstructive techniques. She describes Dr. Lee as one of the most influential figures in her life — a mentor who shaped her hands, sharpened her judgment, and grounded her in surgical philosophy and intellectual clarity.
Dr. Tagani is also a lecturer in anatomy at the University of Medicine in Tirana, a frequent speaker at global medical congresses, and the creator of signature techniques including Baby Eye®, FinNez®, and EyeTrekTrio® — each expressing her distinct approach to proportion, soft tissue harmony, and emotional expression in facial anatomy.
Eventually, the rhythm of learning gave way to creation. Upon returning to Tirana, Dr. Tagani founded her own clinic — intimate in scale, yet ambitious in vision. She imagined a space where laser technology, reconstructive surgery, and aesthetic medicine would coexist under one ethos: precision with purpose, innovation with soul. Today, she continues to collaborate with the very mentors who once trained her — now inviting them to Albania as visiting consultants, cultivating an international network of care and knowledge.
Her work lives at the intersection of medicine and meaning. Her career is not simply built on credentials — though they are extensive — but on intention: to restore, refine, and reimagine with integrity. To her patients, she offers the restraint of an artist, the discipline of a scientist, and the empathy of a woman who sees the person before the procedure.
